Megan Gardner

Megan Gardner is the Chief Executive Officer of Plum District (www.plumdistrict.com), the leading local commerce site powered for moms, by moms. Megan has led the company since its inception in March 2010, and oversees all areas of the business including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Business Development. Plum District has received over $30 million in venture capital led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and General Catalyst Partners, and has grown to over 1 million members and 100 employees. The company’s goal is simple: “Make Mom’s Day” by offering her great values for herself and her family. Most well known for her unwavering determination, drive and sales expertise, Megan has created and mobilized a unique sales team of part-time contractors, most of whom are moms, which has become Plum District’s “secret sauce” for success. Megan is passionate about connecting women—online and offline—and created Plum District to provide women with the opportunity to have a rewarding career, spend quality time with their family and be connected to their local community.

Prior to founding Plum District, Megan served as the Director of Strategy and Business Development for Ameriprise, where she advised the CEO and Senior Management team. Megan launched her career on Wall Street as an investment banker for Deutsche Bank and Soundview Technology, and primarily focused on technology clients. Megan holds a BA from Smith College and an MBA from Harvard. She currently serves on the Alumnae Association Board of Directors for Smith College.
