Lian Dolan
Lian Dolan is a mother, wife, sister, friend, and daughter. She is also a writer, novelist, producer and talk show host. Her first novel, Helen of Pasadena was published in November 2010 by Prospect Park Books. Helen of Pasadena, a romantic comedy about a modern mother in transition, has been a Los Angeles Times bestseller for over a year and was nominated for Best Fiction by the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association. She is currently at work on her next novel. In addition to fiction, Lian writes and talks about her adventures in modern motherhood for her website, www.chaoschronicles.com and her weekly podcast, The Chaos Chronicles. She is known for her humorous take on the day-to-day issues that face women everywhere. Lian is currently developing The Chaos Chronicles as a half-hour comedy for Nickelodeon.
Prior to The Chaos Chronicles, Lian spent a decade hosting Satellite Sisters, an award-winning talk show that she created with her four real sisters. Satellite Sisters has won 11 Gracie Allen Awards for Excellence in Women’s Media, including Talk Show of the Year in 2006.
She is also Contributing Editor at Oprah.com, where she writes a regular relationship column. Her writing has been featured in many national magazines including regular columns in O, The Oprah Magazine and Working Mother Magazine.
Lian has appeared on numerous TV shows including The Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning and The Oprah Winfrey Show. She is an experienced performer onstage as well as on the radio. She’s appeared frequently at the Uncaberet in Hollywood, an evening of comedic storytelling and other theatrical venues. She’s hosted a variety of conferences, awards ceremonies and benefits. Lian’s emceeing experience includes The Gracie Allen Awards for Excellence in Women’s Media, the prestigious Working Mother Conference in New York, and the “HI, Gorgeous” Tour for O Magazine, a multi-city event where she introduced Oprah Winfrey and many other O Magazine Contributors.
Lian lives in Pasadena, California with her husband and two sons. Her dream is to ride on a Rose Parade float.
