Caroline McGraw
Caroline McGraw is an advocate for women and children’s health and healing. Caroline recently published her first children’s book, Litsemba! Litsemba!, which means “hope” in SiSwati, the language of the people of Swaziland. She wrote this beautiful book to help end the cycle of poverty through education and the building of new schools in Swaziland, Africa. Caroline often quotes author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, “I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” For the past 5 years, Caroline has been traveling to Africa where she has helped build homes for the homeless, planted gardens for the hungry, and comforted countless orphaned children who have lost their parents due to the AIDS pandemic. Her passion has led her to Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Swaziland. Prior to her efforts in Africa, Caroline was co-director for 7 years of a non-profit children’s advocacy group. She worked alongside world-renowned genetic researchers and families to help locate the defective gene for G.E.R.D. (published author, JAMA article July 19, 2000). Most recently, Caroline has become Special Projects Coordinator for the marginalized and poor to help create jobs and income for dozens of widows in Swaziland with great hopes to expand to other countries. Caroline completed her 7th marathon in 2010 as part of a team raising awareness for Swaziland’s orphans and widows. For Liquid, she is currently a producer and campaign manager for the documentary film & action campaign, Never A Neverland. Last and certainly not least, Caroline loves and cares for her amazing husband and four beautiful children.
